No matter where the data comes from
Do you create your documents in different programs, some of which are not standard? No problem – using the virtual printer, you can process documents from any source without conversion problems. Even page breaks are guaranteed to stay intact. Do you mainly work with PDF files? With dots Pilot 2 you can load them onto your computer just like EPS and Postscript files. By simply dragging and dropping them from Explorer – the data is imported in the blink of an eye.
dots Pilot 2 will print anything
What do you want to produce? Operating instructions in DIN A5 booklet format, ballots, greeting cards or a complex dissertation? Simply choose a product and dots Pilot 2 automatically arranges the pages in the right order.
Do you need a special format for your booklets? dots Pilot 2 scales the input format to the one you want – even in landscape format, even if the page contents have to be moved and even in non-standard formats.
Get the most out of your machines
Do you need crop marks or creep adjustment for longer, more complex booklets? Do you want to cut pages? Are the front and back sides of your duplex printer out of alignment? With dots Pilot 2, you can solve these problems with a mouse click.

What does dots Pilot 2?
Print booklets, postcards, business cards (imposition)
Booklets
dots Pilot 2 converts your documents into ready-for-printing brochures. To create, for example, a saddle stitched booklet the printed sheets are folded and nested into each other. Try it with our demo:
Start dots Pilot 2 and import the provided sample document "A4_16_pages.ps". Choose "Booklet (saddle stitched)" in the next window. After that dots Pilot 2 offers two choices to organize the pages on the printed sheets:
a) One column, one row or
b) One column, two rows.
Business Cards and the like
If you prefer to print consecutive pages instead of a booklet , choose "Consecutive pages" after importing the provided sample document. This way you can place , for example, 15 business cards on a A4 sheet. Organize 1, 2, 3 .... 64 pages on a single sheet in any way you like. You are not even bound by standard formats since dots Pilot 2 supports custom sheets and scales and centers automatically (or not, if you prefer so).
Postcards, admission tickets etc
Instead of consecutive pages with changing content you can also print pages with the same content on a sheet, i.e. print four identical postcards to one A4 sheet. As in all examples, it is up to you how to arrange the pages on a sheet. Whatever suits you best, put 3x2 pages on a sheet or 5x7 instead of the standard 1x1, 2x2, 4x4, 8x8.
Direct Printing from Applications
Thanks to the "virtual printer"-technology you can send your print jobs from your standard (and even not-so standard) applications to dots Pilot 2. Creating a booklet from your Office-Import or DTP application starts with FILE | PRINT. Choose dots Pilot 2 as printer and hit OK.
Import
This also works smoothly the other way around. When you receive a PostScript (*.ps, *.eps, *prn) or PDF-File import it into dots Pilot 2 and start imposition, editing and printing. dots Pilot 2 processes valid print data regardless of the original application or operating system.
Page Preview
The page preview guarantees the constant control over your settings. Check in real time how your changes affect the print product. Or blow up the preview up to 400% to verify details before printing.
